Special Shoes

This morning, Elle and I had the opportunity to meet the author of this precious book and the sweet little girl who inspired it! We got our books signed by both Molly and Emma at a book signing in Moundville.

In the story, Emma is a young girl who loves a bedtime story about a princess with special shoes. Molly illustrates in a very simple way both the challenges and joys of a little girl with special needs. She is so right that every little girl, regardless of circumstances, deserves to be a princess.

Our sweet daughter, Annie, has splints, a walker and canes, like Emma does in the book, that help her to stand and walk with assistance. She is challenged every day, but almost always, with a smile on her face.
